Prison Revamp | New Pickaxes, Boosters, & More!

    Hey all,

    From the moment @TitanicFreak and I joined @NobleProductions as owners of Neme, we’ve been hard at work making various improvements to the network (both at the forefront and the background) and working on entirely new projects altogether. It’s been really fun getting to know you guys, and I can’t wait to show you what we have in store for the future of Neme. I’m sure by now you’ve seen the new lobby in-game, though it’s nowhere near its final form yet. This marks the beginning of what we’ve dubbed “Phase 1” of our plans for Neme’s future. To follow up on that, we wanted to go through every gamemode and revamp them to bring out their fullest potential, starting with Prison.

    In seasons past, Prison on Neme has generally been extremely pvp-focused. Going forwards, we wanted to be able to shift that focus towards gameplay, so we’ve decided to up the server base version from 1.8 to 1.12.2. (while still retaining 1.8 combat). Doing so has lifted a multitude of restrictions when it comes to what exactly we’re able to do in terms of development, and has allowed us to implement features such as an entirely new pickaxe system and a full-fledged cosmetics core, which will be explained in more detail below.​

    When you first join Prison, you will be given a pickaxe that you are meant to keep for the duration of your gameplay, though you can use /getpick at any point to give yourself a brand new pickaxe.

    If you shift + right-click your pickaxe while looking at an empty space, a GUI will pop up where you can modify the various traits of your pickaxe, such as the applied enchantments and rune modifications.


    E-Tokens are the primary currency for Prison when it comes to applying enchantments onto your pickaxe. You can earn e-tokens through a variety of methods, with the most common form being using your pickaxe at the mines as you normally would on a prison server. You can spend e-tokens in the pickaxe gui or trade them with other players. (you can withdraw e-tokens to be a physical item by typing /tokens withdraw <amount>) Enchantments increase in cost exponentially until the enchantment level is maxed out. Something important to note, however, is that you can only have a maximum of 3 enchantments on your pickaxe by default.

    Now, you may be wondering, “How can I apply more than 3 enchantments? This is far too restrictive,” and that’s exactly where runes come into play. If you click on the emerald in the pickaxe gui, you will be taken to the rune selection menu.


    Every time you break a block in the mines, your pickaxe gains a set amount of exp. After enough experience has been obtained, your pickaxe levels up, and the cost to go to the next level increases. When you hit certain pickaxe level milestones, you unlock “rune slots,” (up to a maximum of eight total) which are essentially slots that allow you to put modifiers on your pickaxe called Runes. There are four types of runes, each with their own slot cost and usage. Enchantment runes allow you to add an additional enchantment onto your pickaxe at the cost of a singular rune slot. Selling and Smelting runes, as their names suggest, automatically sell or smelt mined items respectively at the cost of two rune slots. Finally, there’s the Supercharged rune, which doubles the effects of a certain enchant at the cost of a whopping 4 rune slots, as well as a select amount of e-tokens.

    Your pickaxe will always be soulbound to your player, which means that you cannot lose it if you happen to die with your pickaxe in your inventory. Additionally, every pickaxe is UUID-locked, which means that you cannot share the same pickaxe between multiple players.

    Due to these additions, we’ve unfortunately had to remove some of the existing perks, specifically the /autosell command and the triple blocks perk. To compensate for this, anyone who has bought triple blocks will be able to obtain a 3x money booster that lasts for a duration of 3 hours every single week by typing /redemption. Additionally, anyone who has bought /autosell will be able to use that same redemption gui to claim a free selling rune once every reset.​

    Boosters on Prison now come in three different types - Pickaxe XP boosters, E-Token boosters, and Money boosters. Each booster has a set multiplier and duration, which can be found viewed via the boosters gui (/boosters) under each individual booster type.

    You can obtain these boosters through the store, crates, or by getting Sapphire, which gives you two free boosters every month. (alongside other perks)​

    We’ve added an entirely new cosmetics core to Neme, which adds quite a lot of particle functionality to the game. To begin, simply type /cos, which should bring up the main cosmetics gui.


    There are four new types of cosmetics added to Neme: Trails, Arrow Trails, Wings, and Sprays. Cosmetics can be found packaged together with ranks on the store or through purchasing separate cosmetics bundles under the various stores across the server. (once pushed out to all the other gamemodes)​

    You can type /games in-game to bring up a gui showing the various games we’ve added to Prison, where players can wage money against others. Currently, we have support for connect four, (C4) rock paper scissors, (RPS) and coinflip. Hovering over the sign at the bottom-left corner of each game’s individual gui gives instructions on how to create a wager for that specific gamemode.​



    Introduced this season to Prison (and eventually the whole network), the buy menu will allow you to finally view all of the available packages on the server without needing to leave to go to the store. This includes viewing the prices of the packages, their current sale, and what each package contains, (such as the perks of each rank or the contents of the crates) as well as being able to generate a buy link for said package which will take you straight to checkout with it added to your cart. You can access the buy menu in-game at any time by typing /buy or right-clicking the Donation NPC at spawn.​

    This reset, we’ve gone over and completely revamped the rank redeem system, which will eventually find its way to the rest of the network in time along with the buy menu. This new menu will allow you to redeem your one-time rewards for each rank, as well as redeem your recurring Sapphire rewards. As with the previous system, it’ll show you the current status of your rewards, and when you’ll be able to use them again if you have more on cooldown.​

    Sapphire has proven to be a successful and liked rank since its inception across the network. However, it was never designed to be a permanent rank, and as such, we’ve made the decision to change Sapphire from a permanent rank to a subscription rank to be in-line with the rest of the network. With that being said, we haven’t forgotten that plenty of people have purchased the rank in the past, and we do have a plan for everyone that owns the rank.

    Each and every person that currently has the Sapphire rank on Prison upon login next season will receive the rank in its temporary form for a total of 6 months. This will include all perks that purchasing the rank from the store will give, such as your daily keys, bi-weekly booster, and bi-weekly drop party for the duration of having the rank.

    As with any purchase of Sapphire, the recurring perks can be redeemed irrespective of whether you have the rank or not, meaning you can still redeem your rewards even after the rank has expired on your account.​

    Autosell has not been removed; however, instead of it being a command, it's been integrated into the new Runes system for your pickaxe. If you previously purchased autosell, or if you have at least Redstone rank, you can get a selling rune in /rankredeem. You'll need to mine until you have pickaxe level 50 before you can equip it, as it costs 2 rune slots.
